Plans to build a new 120-bedroom Moxy hotel and a drive-through McDonald's in Coventry near the Ricoh Arena have been submitted.
The six-storey hotel's ground floor will include a reception, a cafe, conferencing area and staff back of house area, while the bedrooms will be located within the five storeys above.
Each floor of the hotel would consist of 24 bedrooms, and in total, five of the rooms would be wheelchair compliant.
The McDonald's drive-through will be spread over a two-storey building.
Parking provision of 65 spaces will be provided for the hotel and 30 spaces for the McDonalds restaurant.
The aim is to open the hotel by the fourth quarter of 2020 in preparation of the forthcoming Coventry UK City of Culture in 2021 and the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022.
