The team behind Hove's Hixon Green, the New York-style cafe and wine bar, is to expand the brand following the acquisition of the former Aqua Restaurant in Lewes.
The East Sussex company won't be stopping there as there are also plans to open another site in Brighton in 2020.
The newly acquired site is situated next to Loungers’ Fuego, in a modern development, which forms part of the Premier Inn. Offering brunch, lunch and dinner, Hixon Green Lewes will serve up handcrafted coffee, cakes, British and Mediterranean dishes, with wine and cocktails.
A spokesperson for Hixon Green commented, “We are very excited to bring our brand to Lewes as we feel our New York inspired space offering great coffee, quality brunch, through to evening menus and a super cocktail and wine list, will complement the mix of strong local independent operators alongside high street operators that thrive in this busy town.”
Kate Dowd of Fleurets, who represented Hixon Green in the acquisition, added, “The guys at Hixon Green have a clear plan for a considered expansion and critical to this is to secure exactly the right units in the right locations to cement their brand in the marketplace.”
