Caternet Menu Publishing launches amidst increased allergens legislation

As part of a strategy to support growing legislative and consumer demand to publish menus and recipes with accurate, allergens data and nutritional information, Zupa (the hospitality software developer for Caternet), has today announced the addition of Caternet Menu Publishing to its long established recipe management system.

Providing its customers with a more complete solution upon which to connect with the outside world, the additional functionality, delivered via the Caternet system, will now enable the deployment of live, allergen compliant recipes and menus, delivered across multiple devices, channels and apps in just a few clicks.

The announcement comes in line with the appointment of Zupa as a newly approved Ten Kites reseller, having previously integrated the Ten Kites’ menu publishing platform into its own Caternet recipe management system for the benefit of both parties’ customers.

This latest collaboration means that a version of the Ten Kites platform and functionality will now become part of the branded Caternet technology offering, delivering multiple features all under one roof.

Mark McCarthy, CEO at Zupa, explained, “As a sector, we continue to face rising legislative demands as well as consumer-driven pressures to publish menus with up to date allergens and nutritional information. People want to view menus before they visit the venue and they want peace of mind that the dietary information they find on restaurant websites is accurate and current.

'Using our Caternet system, suppliers have a live connection ensuring recipe data is always correct; this combined with the new addition of the menu publishing feature, means the data is published and presented in a way that benefits the customer, giving them the ability to highlight the menu options available, based on their own dietary requirements.”

The system will provide a complete offering, with a single point of contact for customers, allowing businesses to update their daily menus and recipes in real time, while automatically sharing metrics with their own customers via mobile apps, websites and across social media platforms. This in turn, increases footfall and eliminates wasted time spent manually updating data when menus change.

To ensure a seamless experience, Zupa will leverage its existing integration with Ten Kites, to push data from the recipes library in the Caternet system to enable its customers to simply take the next step and publish live, accurate data on their websites or print menus in a simple format.

The Caternet Menu Publishing platform will be available to all existing and prospective customers and is priced on an annual licence basis, based on the number of sites.

Jonny Stevens, Sales Director Ten Kites, said, “Since our formation, Ten Kites has built up a strong customer base to include some of the biggest names in the hospitality industry.

'Developing its existing integration with Zupa and making it a reseller of our menu publishing products is a logical step, giving us a wider cross-sector appeal particularly in the contract catering, education and care sectors.

'Zupa has always held a great reputation in the industry and we look forward to supporting one another as both companies grow.”
