17th century Peak District hotel & wedding venue sold

The Maynard in the picturesque Peak District National Park has sold through Christie & Co.

The 17th century hotel and wedding venue boasts 10 en-suite bedrooms, bar, restaurant, and two dedicated function rooms, along with separate manager's accommodation.

The Maynard, situated near to historic Chatsworth House, was brought to the market by the unnamed vendors, so that they could retire.

They noted, 'The decision to sell the Maynard was a difficult one for the family to make, but we feel it is the right time for us to retire from the hospitality world, which has played such a significant part in our lives for over sixty years.'

Gavin Webb at Christie & Co said, 'The Maynard also received a lot of interest when it was first brought to the market and we wish the new owner every luck with his future plans. We are experiencing a strong level of demand for good quality hospitality businesses across the Peak District.'
