Nigerian tapas pop-up to open perm London site in early 2020

Award-winning Nigerian tapas pop-up, Chuku’s is set to open its first bricks and mortar site in Tottenham, London, in February 2020.

Brother and sister, Emeka and Ifeyinwa Frederick will open the 35-cover restaurant following several successful pop-ups around east London.

The menu from the pop-ups will be served up at the new site, as well as some brand new dishes, inspired by recent research trips to discover the cuisine of Northern Nigeria.

Dishes will include Jollof Quinoa, Plantain Waffles, Suya Meatballs - grilled beef meatballs peppered with suya - a traditional peanut spice blend from Northern Nigeria, Moi Moi - A savoury vegan tart made from puréed black-eyed beans, with fresh spinach, cabbage and a honey, chilli vinaigrette

To finish, there will be Sinasir & Miyan Taushe, a rice pancake topped with a pumpkin and peanut sauce.

The drinks list will feature Nigerian beers, and cocktails, such as Hibiscus Sangria, and a Palm Wine cocktail.
