Milton House Nursing Home, a care facility registered for 22, located in Gargrave, Skipton, has sold through Christie & Co..
Milton House operates from a detached, two-storey property that has been sympathetically converted and extended to provide quality accommodation and facilities for residents. It is a recognised care home in the Craven District of North Yorkshire and was awarded a Good rating in its most recent Care Quality Commission Inspection.
Located in the beautiful village and civil parish of Gargrave, the property benefits from delightful gardens with panoramic views of the River Aire and surrounding countryside. Internally, residents are treated to a well- stocked library, dining room, conservatory, and 18 en suite bedrooms.
The care home has been acquired by Lakhvendar Sohal, a businessman who plans to run the facility as part of the newly established, Milton House Nursing and Care Limited company.
Sohal commented, “We are absolutely delighted with our purchase of Milton House. Our aim is to continue the high standard of care that is currently provided by the fantastic staff at Milton House with whom we will continue to serve Gargrave and the surrounding areas.”
Jonathan Wickens, Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, said, “We are delighted to have worked with the previous owners, Winston and Carol Shutt and are pleased that they can now enjoy their well-deserved retirement, having sold the home. We were pleased to introduce Amarjit and his partner to the home and feel confident they will continue the great traditions.
“Despite widely reported pressures within the social care sector, the sale of Milton House highlights the continued demand for quality care facilities across the Yorkshire region. It also suggests there is a future for long term care in well maintained and caring environments, such as Milton House.”
