Ei Group has just hosted the latest Brilliant Women Boardroom Forum at two Bermondsey Pub Company sites in London, The Speaker and the Marquis of Westminster to facilitate and support diversity and inclusion across the workforce.
The event, which was attended by Bermondsey Pub Company’s Head of Property Development, Linda Kennedy, alongside several senior female leaders from a range of hospitality businesses, was hosted by highly-respected pub sector figure Jackie Moody McNamara.
Women face a number of disadvantages in trying to reach senior executive positions and to achieve career success. The purpose of Brilliant Women Boardroom is to provide a programme for women to be unapologetically ambitious under the safety of a confidential umbrella, with expert support giving members the confidence to utilise a wider range of strategies, skills and techniques to achieve immediate and sustained improvements.
The event is a continuation of Ei Group’s commitment to supporting women in the hospitality sector through signing the Diversity in Hospitality, Travel and Leisure Charter, and demonstrates its ongoing support for the Women in Hospitality – WiHTL.
Andy Holness, Group HR Director, Ei Group, said, “We’re committed to encouraging diversity and inclusion across our workforce and recognise the importance of providing equal opportunities for all.
'After signing the diversity charter, we were determined to put our full weight behind this campaign and this latest forum is just one way in which we’re partnering with the industry on the issue. We very much look forward to continuing our support over the coming years.”
Programme leader, Jackie Moody McNamara added, “A big thanks to Ei Group for hosting our forum. It never ceases to amaze me just how much talent and passion the women in our sector poses and it’s evident through this programme and research I have undertaken that it’s not being unlocked. We need to start valuing our differences and equip leaders to recognise and cultivate the talented women in our sector.”
