Dobbies sales leap 44% after Wyvale sites acquistion

The UK's largest garden centre operator, Dobbies has reported financial results for the nine weeks to December 29 showing that sales have jumped 44%, a like-for-like growth of 6%.

The company's impressive figures are due to the 37 Wyevale sites that it purchased last year, bringing the whole estate to 69 sites, and strong Christmas trading.

The group offers eateries at across the portfolio, which serve up breakfast and lunch through to afternoon tea, including vegetarian and gluten-free options.

Dobbies was acquired from Tesco in 2016 for £217, by a private investment consortium led by Midlothian Partners and Hattington Capital.
