The first wet-led offer has been announced for the Import Building at Republic, the first phase of the 600,000 sq ft next-gen office campus in East London.
Whisky bar concept, Black Rock, which has London site and one in Bristol, has signed for 2,000 sq ft of space on the ground floor of the Import Building, offering a truly unique drinking experience.
As well as a traditional bar, guests at the Republic outlet will also be able to sit at a central table cut from a single oak tree trunk. The table features carved aging channels, lined with different types of oak to impart curated flavours and character to the whiskies stored in them.
Guests can view the whisky being aged through a glass tabletop and dispense it through taps on each end. The showpiece table at Republic will be 30% larger than the table at Black Rock’s original site in Shoreditch.

Republic is already home to a raft of creative and innovative companies, including The Trampery co-working space; award-winning digital agency Threepipe; one of Europe’s fastest growing telecommunications companies Lebara Mobile; Deliveroo’s East London recruitment hub; The Gentlemen Baristas coffee shop; and the UK’s largest gym operator PureGym.
In October, it was announced that Global Banking School will take space at Republic, sitting alongside Anglia Ruskin University’s ARU London facility to create a community of 1000 higher and professional education students on the campus.
Republic has set a new standard for next-generation workspace in East London, providing a well-connected, affordable campus that meets contemporary professional and personal needs, with a focus on creativity, connectivity, affordability and wellbeing.
The campus offers an ongoing series of curated social and cultural events, wellness facilities and initiatives, alongside a recently redeveloped public realm, which boasts a comprehensive ecology strategy.
The Export Building, the second phase of the campus’ redevelopment, providing another 120,000 sq ft of workspace, will launch this Spring.
