On The Green to launch at Liverpool One

Grosvenor has announced the signing of a premium golf simulation concept, On The Green, for its first ever site at Liverpool One.

Founded in Liverpool with local business and family roots, On The Green has selected a 4,700 sq ft. space on The Terrace for its debut venue which is set to further elevate Liverpool One’s rich leisure offering.

Set to safely launch once Covid-19 lockdown restrictions are lifted, the immersive golf experience has been designed with both professional and novice golfers in mind, to cater to patrons of all abilities.

On the Green’s revolutionary technology allows customers to play a full 18-hole round of golf with a real club and golf ball, providing active analysis on spin rate, projection and club swings while PGA professionals are available to offer lessons to complete beginners or those wanting to hone their skills.

The new venue will also make full use of its unique terrace, which offers panoramic views over the city’s Chavasse Park, Albert Dock, River Mersey and both Liverpool Cathedrals. The external space will be equipped with a bar for both alcoholic and non-alcoholic ‘clubhouse’ drinks, comfortably accommodating family outings, social gatherings and formal business meetings alike.

The multi-faceted golf concept will enable users to play a number of the world’s top courses within a relaxed and informal environment. On The Green will provide top brand golfing equipment for use whilst in the simulators to ensure accessibility for all, bolstering the comprehensive golfing experience.

Upon opening, On The Green will operate in line with all applicable Covid-19 regulations, in conjunction with the strict health and safety measures in place across Liverpool One.

Matt Hatchard, Director at On The Green, said, “We were selective when searching for the perfect location at which to launch On The Green, and Liverpool One, with its outstanding mix of leisure names, open-air environment and attractive terrace, really stood out to us.

'We wanted to work with a destination that supported our vision of delivering a premium indoor golf simulation concept, bar and terrace, and Liverpool One has strongly supported us on this front. We can’t wait to open post lockdown and deliver everything On The Green is about to families, friends, business colleagues and golfing professionals alike.”

Alison Clegg, Director, Asset Management, Grosvenor Group, commented, “Securing the debut for On The Green’s new experiential concept is a great way for Liverpool One to herald in the new year, and further establishes our position as a leading destination.

'The new venue will sit comfortably alongside our strong existing leisure brands, including Roxy Ball Room and Junkyard Golf. It is fantastic that Liverpool One is the first choice for local independent operators as well as big national names, and we look forward to seeing On The Green thrive as part of this well-balanced mix.”

The signing of On The Green follows a series of significant new entrants at Liverpool One including Sky’s first ever physical store, and the experience-led Boujee Bar and Restaurant: set to be Liverpool’s ‘most Instagrammable’ venue.
