Grosvenor Pubs & Inns to launch new pub & reopen refurbed site in Surrey

This Monday, the Grosvenor Pubs & Inns group is set to reopen the totally refurbished The Cricketers on The Green, Pirbright, and to launch The Kings Arms in Egham, both in Surrey.

A brand new spring menu has been created for the openings, and the dishes can be enjoyed in beautiful alfresco settings.

The Kings Arms, a Grade II-listed building, has been lovingly converted back to a great pub. Throughout there are nods to the Royal history, as the original building was initially used as stables in 1949. It's situated on the doorstep of where the Magna Carta was sealed in 1215.

Outside, The Menagerie (pictured) awaits for alfresco dining with seating for up to 50. With an all year-round alfresco terrace convertible roof, fire and ice tables, botanical trees and a lavish living plant wall, it's the perfect spot for a leisurely lunch or long awaited catch up with friends over cocktails.

The new menu included dishes that focus on local produce, paying special attention to seasonality. 'From The Fields' there's English Feta & Whipped Avocado, and Kent Asparagus, Pea & Truffle Risotto.

'From The Shores' diners can enjoy Catch of The Day, Devon Crab Linguini, and Grosvenor Collection Fishcake. Finally, 'From The Farms' there's 12-Hour Smoked Hampshire Pork Belly, Rump of Surrey Lamb, and fresh Neapolitan Pizzas.

After an extensive refurb, award-winning British gastropub, The Cricketers on the Green has a new colour scheme, new team, refreshed furniture, updated exterior, and more.

Come rain or shine, The Garden Room is fully equipped with heaters and a retractable roof, plus an all new outside bar (named by the locals as The Dolly Bar), and refreshed Yurt Cafe.

Much like The Kings Arms, a new menu is now available with food focusing on British inspired dishes Including From The Fields; Puff Pastry Pithivier and Hot Smoked Salmon Salad . From The Shores; Grosvenor Fish & Chips and Luxury South. Coast Fish Pie. From The Farms; Grosvenor Collection Banham Chicken Pie and 26-day Aged Flat Iron, plus the fresh Neapolitan Pizzas.

An extensive wine list and cocktails are also available to help celebrate the end of lockdown.

With a warm welcome, including over 1,000 bookings for alfresco already, the team has made sure there will be walk-in space available on first-come first-serve basis.

Jo Pennefather, the new general manager, said, “I am very excited to join the community, nothing is more important to me than exceeding my customers’ expectations and going that extra mile.

'I want to develop great relationships with the surrounding Pirbrightees and give The Cricketers the potential that it deserves, bringing you those special moments and lasting memories. I look forward to meeting you all very soon.'
