Second Elliots site to open next week

Elliot’s, the Borough Market restaurant from Samanthan Lim and Brett Redman, will be opening a second site on 121-123 Mare Street, on 29 July, having originally been set for a February launch.

The new restaurant will feature much loved dishes from the Elliot’s menu, as well items from the wood fired grill, sourdough pizza and an all natural wine list. The new site will open almost 10 years to the day of the opening of the Borough Market site.

Redman said, “We are very excited to be able to open a restaurant in East London, our home for the last decade and where some of London's most exciting restaurants are based.”

Overseen by Redman and Head Chef Matt Tarantini, Elliot’s menu will once again champion traders from Borough Market, as well as some of the best fruit and vegetable growers, fisherman and farmers in the UK & Europe. Some favourites making a return to the menu include the Isle of Mull Cheese Puffs, Rose veal tartare and the longstanding signature woodfired cheesecake

Joining the team as General Manager will be Cameron Dewar, previously of Elystan Street, who will also be overseeing Elliot’s wine list. With this list the restaurant will be building on already long standing relationships with small scale, low intervention producers and distributors.

Designed by international architects Hesselbrand, the restaurant will seat 70 guests and features a generous, curved bar made of sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood and brushed stainless steel.

The bar and main dining space has large timber windows and glass doors which create a seamless connection to the outdoor seating area on the lively corner on Mare street, making the most of the unique location.

In contrast to the main dining area there is also an intimate, dimly-lit dining room to the rear of the restaurant. This space has a contemporary and festive atmosphere, with oak panel walls all around, large mirrors, and a citrus coloured floor.
