The London Reign owner to open 2nd nightclub after £3.5m refurb

The owner of one of London’s hottest nightclubs has announced that his next venture, Tabu will take over the iconic former Mahiki site at 1 Dover Street in London's Mayfair, and will open on Thursday 28 October.

As Mahiki, No1 Dover Street grew to become one of London’s most talked-about addresses, earning its place as a favourite party haunt for royals and celebs alike. It occupied a top spot on the London party circuit for more than 16 years.

But now, the Dover Street venue has changed hands; new at the helm is Asher Grant, who is also the owner of A-list favourite, The London Reign show club (pictured).

Grant and his partners have completely transformed the 6,000 sq ft site with a £3.5m refurbishment; the space now boasts a swanky, Japanese-inspired cocktail lounge on the ground floor, and an edgy ‘Tokyo night club’ on the lower level.

Following an unprecedented 18 months for hospitality and events, Asher says he’s excited to be coming out of the other side with a brand-new venue, and to be bringing the life back into one of Mayfair’s best-loved locations.

He said, “Mahiki was one of the first clubs I went to when I moved to London as a young man, so the opportunity to re-ignite this famous venue was too good to pass up.”
