Top Turkish chef launches first solo restaurant today in London

A star of Istanbul’s dining scene, Esra Muslu is opening her first solo restaurant, Zahter, in London's Soho today

Previously, Muslu has worked with Soho House's Nick Jones and Yotam Ottolenghi, and now Zahter is set to be her 'love letter to Turkey'.

She has also opened four restaurants in the city with Zeynep Moroglu, the well-received Backyard, Auf, Kauf, and Unter.

The three-floor restaurant in Carnaby offers the main dining room on the first floor, and at the top, The Loft is to be a cookery school and events space.

The menu features mezze dishes such as golden beetroot with homemade dukkah & muhammarah; Smoked aubergine with fried chilli; Domlasi with whole artichoke, spiced rice, sour cherries & almond, and Oil braised feta cream with charred fennel & dill.

For a sweet treat, diners can enjoy Baklava with green pistachios and rose petals.

Initially open for lunch and dinner, Muslu is planning to do a breakfast menu at some point in the future.
