Nisbets makes first acquisition in 5 years with UK Engineers

The UK’s largest supplier of kitchen and catering equipment, Nisbets has announced the acquisition of UK Catering and Refrigeration Engineers Ltd (UK Engineers), its first acquisition in over five years.

This acquisition is made despite the uncertain trading conditions caused by the pandemic, demonstrating our absolute commitment to the catering and hospitality sector.

Technology is fundamental to Nisbets' ability to maintain high growth for our businesses and this acquisition will enable the group to enhance our service offering further.

UK Engineers operates nationwide and has a proven track record in connecting independent, qualified engineers with professional customers to service heavy equipment in the catering and hospitality sector.

Its scalable technology platform supports our commitment to deliver the highest standards of service, speed and consistency across the UK, European, Australian and New Zealand Catering and Hospitality sectors.

UK Engineers will continue to trade as a separate entity under its existing management team led by MD Paul Holloway.

Peter Sephton, Nisbets’ vice chairman, said, “This acquisition is our first in over 5 years and is made despite the uncertain trading conditions caused by the pandemic, demonstrating our absolute commitment to the catering and hospitality sector.

'Technology is fundamental to our ability to maintain high growth for our businesses and this acquisition will enable us to enhance our service offering further.”

While Robin White, MD of Nisbets UK and Ireland, commented, “Nisbets customers expect reliability, speed and quality of service from us. It creates a ‘one stop shop’ experience for customers and next day and in some areas, same day delivery.

'This acquisition supports our service business’ growth plans focused on delivering excellent service for both light and heavy equipment. We look forward to working with the UK Engineers team.”
