£1.6m Great Yarmouth hotel seeks new ownership

The 50-bed Comfort Hotel located parallel to Great Yarmouth’s Pleasure Beach is being brought to the market by Colliers for £1.6m.

One of only a few branded hotels in the area, the property offers a 70-cover restaurant, 25-cover bar as well as an air conditioned function suite with a capacity for 100.

The hotel is aslo licensed to hold civil ceremonies and can accommodate 250 guests in a marquee in the landscaped gardens at the rear of the hotel.

Comfort Hotel has been managed by the current owners since 1997, who are now looking to focus on new business ventures.

Pre-pandemic, the hotel was popular for leisure and business guests all year round, as well as hosting a range of private and corporate functions on site.

During the pandemic, it has benefitted from the staycation demand with popular attractions such as Roman ruins and the National Trust’s Elizabethan House located in the area. It has also continued to provide corporate or key worker accommodation.

Paul Barrasford, director in Colliers’ Hotel Agency team, noted, “The Comfort Hotel Great Yarmouth is ideally located in the heart of one of England’s favourite seaside towns. Guests can step outside and be on the Pleasure Beach in moments to enjoy the sea or one of the many attractions just a few minutes’ walk away.

“It benefits from custom all year round from domestic holiday makers as well as repeated visits from business guests, and also makes a good trade as an events venue as well.”

The hotel is on the south side of the town of Great Yarmouth, set back one row from the seafront. It’s close to attractions including SEA Life, the Marina Centre as well as Wellington Pier, which offers fun for the whole family, with bowling, arcade games and a casino.
