South Devon c-store bought by mult-site operators

Cambridge Road Convenience Store in Brixham, South Devon, has been sold to the Patel family, experienced retail operators with multiple stores in the South West area, via Christie & Cp.

The Premier-branded convenience store came to the market as the previous owners were looking to move onto the next chapter, having operated the shop for seven years.

The business situated in a densely populated residential housing estate and features a double fronted shop with a post office and a two-bed owner’s flat with separate access and a large garden, making it the perfect family business.

The new owners, the Patel family bring with them extensive experience in the retail industry and will now own three stores in the South West following the acquisition. The shop will remain a convenience store and post office but they will be looking to develop it into a bigger business.

Joe Brayne, Retail Business Agent at Christie & Co, who brokered the deal, noted, “The sale of Cambridge Road Convenience Store was agreed at the full asking price, which was a fantastic result.

'We received a high level of interest from many other parties but the new owners have a lot of retail experience, which will bode well for them to grow the business.

“The retail market is busy and I am inundated with buyers daily looking for good well-run stores like Cambridge Stores,” he continues, “So it’s a great time to consider selling if you operate a similar business.”
