New Dawn Pubs opens 5th pub today in Surrey

Mark Robson and Mark Williams, along with fellow founders of New Dawn Pubs (NDP), have opened the doors to their first newly purchased pub, The Gomshall Mill, near Guildford, since founding the firm in July this year.

Becoming the fifth pub within the NDP collection, The Gomshall Mill, a 17th-century original mill, has opened today, just in time for the festive season.

The owners have invested a significant 7-figure suminto thepurchase and refurbishment ofthis uniquesite. The first phase of work incorporates a full refurbishment of the pub’s internal footprint, sympathetically working with the beautiful architecture and design of the building, whilst restoring and repairing its original features, to enhance its wonderful character.

Updates include all new bathrooms, bar, décor, theming, and furnishings throughout, which have been inspired by its stunning location within the Surrey Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Phase two of the pub’s refurbishment is ongoing and will focus on the exterior and surroundings of the pub, including the pub garden and patio.

In line with their company ethos, the team has sought small, independent businesses to work with throughout the project; alongside partnering with small and local artisan food and drink suppliers who are best-in-class in their field, ensuring its 100% traceability promise of every ingredient used within its business.

Mark Robson, NDP co-founder and BII Chair, commented, “We are thrilled to have opened the doors to our first, newly acquired pub since establishing New Dawn Pubs.

'The Gomshall Mill is such a fantastic site, and we are looking forward to becoming a key part of the community there, creating new jobs, supporting the local supply chain, and building a reputable and enviable destination pub.”
