Workplace caterer Eurest has secured a contract to provide catering and hospitality services at the Moderna Innovation and Technology Centre (MITC) in Oxfordshire.
Under the agreement, the Compass Group-owned business and industry specialist will deliver breakfast and lunch for Moderna’s 150 employees, as well as offer 24-hour self-service options for manufacturing staff.
The new contract follows Eurest’s successful delivery of food services at Moderna’s temporary office space in Harwell during the construction of its new R&D facility at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus. The centre, which opened last month, is designed to accelerate the development and production of mRNA respiratory vaccines.
This agreement marks Eurest’s fifth contract win at Harwell Campus in the past 18 months, joining existing partnerships with Catapult Satellite Applications, the European Space Agency, and SNAP.
Sam Mitchell, contract director at Eurest, said: “We’re excited to be working with Moderna and to expand our services within the Harwell community. This new contract represents organic business growth, building on the strength of our existing partnerships and reputation at Harwell.
“This new partnership also marks an exciting phase of development for our team, with Keith Wallace stepping into a new challenge as chef manager at Moderna. His progression highlights our commitment to nurturing internal talent while delivering an exceptional service for our clients.”
At the 2022 Foodservice Cateys, Eurest was named Business and Industry Caterer of the Year, recognising its excellence in workplace dining and service innovation.
Terms of the agreement with Moderna were not disclosed.
