Dishoom is preparing to launch its next Permit Room spin-off restaurant in Liverpool.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the group has submitted a licensing application for a site at Exchange Court in the city centre.
Job listings for a Liverpool floor manager role, offering a salary of £39,500 to £42,000, and a general manager position with “competitive” pay, have also been posted on Dishoom’s online careers portal.
The group website said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our brand-new Permit Room in Liverpool, and we’re on the lookout for brilliant managers to join the opening team.”
Since opening its first restaurant in London in 2010, cousins Shamil and Kavi Thakrar have grown Dishoom into a group of 11 restaurants and four Permit Rooms across Notting Hill, Brighton, Oxford and Cambridge.
Dishoom’s Permit Room concept offers a more laid-back, drinks-led experience, pairing an all-day menu with beers and cocktails. The Notting Hill site also introduces a new feature for the group—overnight bedrooms for guests.
Earlier this month, Dishoom announced its first external investment, a reported £300m deal with US private equity firm L Catterton. The partnership will support the launch of the brand’s first US restaurant in New York in 2026, alongside further UK expansion.
The Indian restaurant group reported turnover of £137.1m in 2024, up 17%, with pre-tax profits rising to £10.13m from £7.4m the previous year.
