Scott Duncan appointed Managing Director at Hobart UK

Scott Duncan, formerly Managing Director at Unox UK, has been appointed Managing Director of Hobart UK, the commercial catering equipment provider.

He succeeds Tracy Southwell, who made history in January 2023 as the company’s first female Managing Director, having originally joined Hobart in 2021 as Sales and Marketing Director.

Before his four-year tenure at Unox, Duncan held senior leadership positions at Carpigiani UK, Jestic Foodservice, and Servequip.

In addition to his new role at Hobart UK, he serves as a council member for the Foodservice Equipment Association (FEA) and is an ambassador for the Burnt Chef Project.

Duncan said: “Hobart is an iconic brand with a proud heritage and strong reputation for quality and innovation. I am excited to be joining the business and look forward to building on the great success already achieved by the team. Together we will focus on driving growth, strengthening customer relationships and continuing to deliver on Hobart’s legacy of excellence.”

Silvio Koch, vice president and general manager at Hobart Service & Equipment Division – Europe, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scott to Hobart UK. His knowledge, experience, and reputation in the industry make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team. Exceptional leadership combined with ITW’s unique business model are the driving forces behind our strong market position. On behalf of everyone at Hobart, I would like to extend our best wishes for his success in this important new role.

“We would also like to thank Tracy Southwell, the outgoing managing director, for her contribution and leadership. During her time in the role, Tracy initiated an important period of transformation, strengthening the foundations of the business and driving progress in areas such as employee development, diversity and inclusion, and sustainability. Her energy and commitment have made a positive impact, and we wish her every success in the next chapter of her career.”

Founded in Troy, Ohio, in 1897, Hobart has a long history of innovation in foodservice equipment. The company secured the patent for the first flight-type dishwasher in 1953 and has since established itself as a global leader in commercial warewashing technology.
