Greggs will open its first-ever pub, the Golden Flake Tavern, inside Newcastle’s Fenwick department store on Saturday, 27 September.
The pub will be open from 11am to 7pm, pouring Greggs-themed draft beers such as the Pink Jammie IPA and Gosforth 1939 Stottie Lager, brewed in collaboration with Full Circle Brew Co.
Cocktail options will include the Pink Jammie Fizz and a Spiced Caramel Doughnut Old Fashioned, complemented by a full drinks list featuring soft drinks, wines, Newcastle Brown Ale, and Guinness.
The menu will feature creative takes on Greggs’ bakery favourites, such as a chicken bake parmo and a steak bake mixed grill.
Guests will also be able to enjoy a ploughman’s platter, along with a Greggs-style Sunday carvery complete with all the trimmings.
In 2023, the bakery chain launched an 80-seat “fine dining” restaurant at the same Fenwick location.
The steak bake was accompanied by truffled dauphinoise potatoes, green beans, and toasted almonds, while the Greggs Yum Yum was finished with caramel sauce and macadamia brittle — all presented under silver cloches by waiters in classic white shirts, ties, and Bistro Greggs aprons.
