Pizza Hut to close 68 UK restaurants after operator enters administration

Pizza Hut will close 68 restaurants after the company operating its UK branches entered administration.

No details have been given on how many employees could lose their jobs as a result of the closures.

DLC London Pie, which runs Pizza Hut’s UK restaurants, appointed administrators from the corporate finance firm FTI on Monday.

The move comes less than a year after the company acquired the chain’s restaurants out of insolvency.

On Monday, US hospitality giant Yum! Brands, which owns the global Pizza Hut business, announced it had acquired the UK restaurant operation through a pre-pack administration deal, securing 64 sites and safeguarding 1,277 jobs.
