The Inn Collection Group has unveiled plans for a major expansion that will see the creation of more than 700 new jobs over the next five years.
The Newcastle-based company has secured £125m in funding from HSBC to support its growth, expanding its portfolio from 31 pubs with rooms to more than 40 by 2030.
The group’s portfolio, known for its boutique-style rooms and welcoming pub restaurants across northern England and north Wales, includes the Angel Inn in Bowness and the Black Swan in Helmsley, where room rates start from around £61 per night for single occupancy.
According to filings with Companies House, The Inn Collection Group reported a turnover of £83.9m in 2024, up from approximately £52m in 2023.
Founded in 2013, the company was acquired in 2022 by a business backed by the Harris Family Trust and Kings Park Capital, in a deal valuing it at around £300m.
Chief financial officer at the Inn Collection Group, Joe Bernhoeft, said: “We are looking forward to this next stage of company growth as we continue to expand across the UK and provide sites that are warm and full of character.”
The expansion follows strong growth in the “pubs with rooms” market, as competitors including Butcombe Group, Heartwood Collection, Greene King, and Young’s have all experienced rising demand for overnight stays.
Earlier this year a study of more than 4,000 consumers and operators found there is “significant potential” for growth in the pubs with rooms market, which has historically underperformed with younger consumers.
