Samworth Bros celebrates 25% pre-tax profit growth


Leicestershire-based food manufacturer, Samworth Brothers has reported a pre-tax profit of £41.8m, which equates to an impressive 25% increase, for the year to 27 December 2014.

The strong results from the family-run business also included a 5.8% increase in sales growth to £836.9m.

Samworth Brother is a group made up of 16 businesses that individually produce quality chilled and ambient foods that are widely stocked around the country.

Founded in 1896, the firm owns Cornish pasty maker Ginsters, and is the largest maker of certified Melton Mowbray pork pies. It is listed at number four in The Times Top Track 250.
