Unilever subsidiary, Ben and Jerry’s has just announced that its new vegan ice cream line will be made with almond milk. It announced in September that it would launch the vegan line, and will be the first mainstream US ice cream brand to do so.
The push from consumers for a dairy-free ice cream option saw over 30,000 signatures added to a Change.Org petition asking Ben and Jerry’s to create a vegan option. The company then announced the plans to unleash a new vegan option in 2016.
Although Ben and Jerry’s has finally disclosed that the dairy-free pints would be made using almond milk, further details on the flavour or names of the new products have yet to be released.
