Chilango raises £3.4m through crowdfunding to finance expansion


The Mexican fast-food chain, Chilango has finished its latest round of crowdfunding through Crowdcube, having raised £3.4m from 1,519 investors, valuing the company at over £30m.

The company is now planning to expand to 50 UK outlets and to also launch a global franchise.

Launched in 2007 by Young Guns Dan Houghton and Eric Partaker, Chilango specialises in Mexican burritos and now operates nine restaurants across central London with a 10th site planned for Soho.
