Cafe Murano launches new Sunday lunch menu

Angela Hartnett's Cafe Murano will launch a new ‘Pranzo della Domenica’ Sunday lunch menu at both the St James’s and Covent Garden restaurants, starting from Mother’s Day, Sunday 6th March.

Hartnett has created the menu with executive head chef Sam Williams, as a nod to the traditional family Sunday meals of her childhood. With her signature style of simple, seasonal Italian cooking, the Sunday dishes are designed to bring together families and friends over shared roast cuts of meat, plates of cichetti and antipasti or bowls of fresh, silky pasta, made daily by the chefs.

The new dishes include Arancini with mozzarella & basi, Sweet & Sour sardines, plus antipasti such as Salt cod with wet polenta & Planeta olive oil, and Cauliflower, golden raisins & smoked ricotta. Freshly made pasta dishes of Spaghetti carbonara with pancetta, and Orecchiette with chilli, garlic, broccoli & pecorino are anticipated family favourites.

Guests seeking a more typical Sunday roast will be pleased to find new secondis of Rib-eye, rosemary oven potatoes and gratinated fennel to share, as well as Herdwick lamb leg, salsa verde and smoked aubergine. Finally, for a sweet end to the week there will be Tiramisu semifreddo, and Apple torta & vanilla ice cream.

For those simply wanting a quick snack, Hartnett and Williams have also introduced a new Harry’s Bar toasted sandwich. Inspired by the famous Venetian bistro, the toastie includes ham and cheese, layered with a rich sauce of Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce and egg yolks.

The new ‘Pranzo della Domenica’ Sunday lunch menu will be available from 11:30am-4pm in both the St James’ and Covent Garden restaurants from Sunday 6 March.
