Durham County Council is to consider plans for the expansion of the Dalton Park shopping complex in Murton, that would create almost 500 jobs.
The plans include a five-screen cinema, hotel, public house, foodstore, 1,394 sq m of food and drink units, a drive-through restaurant and a petrol filling station. The development is also expected to add £13.5m to the local economy.
