Pizza Hut plans £40m expansion with 200 new outlets

Pizza Hut is to open 200 new takeaway stores over the next four years, creating at least 3,000 new jobs, as part of a £40m expansion plan,

One in four of the new outlets will be quick-serve sites offering smaller servings of pizza that can be eaten in or taken away.

Raphael Miolane, chief executive of Pizza Hut UK & Ireland, said, 'We've built a firm foundation for the business since we opened our first delivery store over 15 years ago.

'We are proud to be on a path for continued growth in the UK, with ambitious plans to open a further 200 stores by 2020. Our Pizza Hut Express portfolio will play an important role in this strategy, with one in four new Huts taking this format.

'We wouldn't be where we are today without our franchisees and we are looking forward to growing our existing relationships, whilst also developing new partnerships to achieve our ambitions.'

Pizza Hut has more than 700 takeaway and restaurant units in the UK and Ireland, employing some 8,000 staff.
