£200m Devon tourist attraction, service station & food centre planned


Permission is being sought from Mid Devon District Council to build a successor to the Eden Project, The £200m scheme, named Eden Westwood would include a tourist attraction, service station and food centre at a 90-hectare site near J27 of the M5.

The centre piece would be a stunning glass 'Ark', dreamt up by Eden co-founder Sir Tim Smit, surrounded by a surf lake and beach, themed hotel, outdoor leisure activities, a designer outlet village and traveller services.

The plans also included a distribution centre almost as large as the Morrisons distribution centre at Bridgwater.
