Bluebird returns with new look & new menu

Iconic Chelsea restaurant and bar, Bluebird returns this September after a beautiful refurbishment and a new menu, re-establishing it as the place to be seen in SW3.

Officially reopening on Wednesday 21 September, designers Sagrada (Sartoria and The Arts Club) have revealed two sneak-peeks of the new interior.

Paying homage to the building’s heritage as the first garage of the Bluebird Motor Company in 1923, the original steel frame of the atrium has been lovingly refreshed with bold red accenting. The restaurant’s rich hues and use of mixed materials create an inviting environment no matter the time of day.

With a new Executive Head Chef, the refreshed food offering at Bluebird is just as enticing as the interiors. Chef Liam Smith-Laing’s menus will feature simple, fresh and honest dishes inspired by the best of Modern European cooking, made using the finest ingredients.

Diners can take a seat at one of the many custom-made velvet and leather-backed chairs from Celia Birtwell. Ruby red bar stools adorn the centrally illuminated curved metal bar – perfect for enjoying a drink or two from the extensive cocktail list. The dining room has been completed with heavy drapes which offer a touch of privacy for an intimate date or a quiet business meeting.
