Country house hotel Down Hall has been named Wedding Venue of the Year at the fifth annual Essex Wedding Awards. The award follows an extensive £6.5m refurbishment of the hotel and grounds earlier this year.
Noted for their ethos of ‘turning dreams into a perfect reality’, Down Hall was commended for the care and attention given to couples, as well as additional touches, such as personalised toastmasters and complementary spa access for the day after the wedding.
The Essex Wedding awards celebrate the very best of the county’s wedding professionals, services and venues. The awards are unique to Essex and are independently judged by engaged couples, gift list managers and a specially-selected panel of industry experts.
Down Hall is renowned for hosting elegant ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and receptions. The venue offers a variety of banqueting rooms with panoramic views over the gardens, 26 multipurpose rooms with a maximum capacity of 200 guests, 98 refurbished bedrooms and the new Eden Spa.
