Applegreen to open new M1 service station near Lisburn

Applegreen is creating about 120 jobs at a new service station due to open on the M1 near Lisburn in the next few months.

The new service station, Applegreen’s sixth site in Northern Ireland, will offer a range of food outlets including Greggs, Burger King, Subway, Chopstix and Lavazza Cafe.

In recent years, the brand has gone from strength to strength, building on its strong presence in the south and expanding into the UK and the US.

The company went public on the Irish Stock Exchange in June 2016, raising €70m in its initial post offering.

Applegreen was then awarded the coveted ‘Star of 2016’ prize at the European Small and Mid-Cap Awards in Brussels, beating Belfast-based Kainos and Spain’s Inclam Group.
