Venetian-inspired mini-chain, Polpo has announced that Scott Macdonald will be joining the team as Managing Director later this month.
Macdonald joins Polpo from Bill’s Restaurants where he held the position of Managing Director for four years. Prior to this, Macdonald was Food & Beverage Director at Selfridges and has worked in the restaurant industry for over 25 years.
Polpo co-founder Richard Beatty said, “Scott will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the team and we’re pleased to be working with him to drive the company forward – starting with the opening of Polpo in Oxford later this year.'
The first branch of Polpo opened on London's Beak Street in September 2009 and there are now operates nine sites in London and also in Brighton, Bristol and Exeter.
The company has received the Michelin Guide's Bib Gourmand for the last six consecutive years.
