Hotel Collection sells Billesley Manor Hotel

The Hotel Collection, represented by Savills, has sold the 4-star Billesley Manor Hotel on the outskirts of Stratford-upon-Avon to an overseas private investor.

The Grade II-listed Billesley Manor Hotel dates back to the 16th Century and offers 72 bedrooms, a health club, an AA rosette restaurant, two bars and 10 conference rooms. The hotel will be managed by Bespoke Hotels.

Many of its original features have been retained, including the ornate great hall, 100-year-old topiary garden with fountain and a library in which Shakespeare is reported to have written one of his plays.

The sale of Billesley Manor Hotel leaves just Shrigley Hall Hotel to be sold from the original 10-strong portfolio of regional UK hotels, known as Project Solstice, which Savills are marketing on behalf of The Hotel Collection.

Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, commented, “We are pleased to have secured a new owner for Billesley Manor Hotel. The sale leaves just one property left from the Project Solstice portfolio, of which we expect a sale imminently.

'The UK regional hotel market continues to attract both overseas investors and high net worth individuals looking for smaller lot sizes and long term income.”
