Brewhouse & Kitchen acquires first site in Wales

Brewhouse & Kitchen has acquired its 18th pub-restaurant in central Cardiff, the home town of the brand's co-founder, Kris Gumbrell, and the firm's first Welsh site.

The Y Mochyn Du pub is now set for a refurbishment and will reopen as a Brewhouse & Kitchen next year, with a microbrewery on site.

The venue is situated next to Glamorgan Cricket Club’s ground and the Sport Wales National Centre. It's also only a 10-minute walk to the Millennium Stadium and the city centre.

Kris Gumbrell said, 'As a Welshman, I am looking forward to bringing what we do to this vibrant and unique market. As well as brewing more unique beers, we will be looking to work with some of the great craft brewers in the south Wales area.

“Apart from its location, one of the other very special features of this business is that it is a bilingual pub. Brewhouse & Kitchen are committed to maintaining this important cultural link, our signage, printed media and website will all be bilingual.”
