McDonald’s has launched the trial of a new burger, the McVegan, at an outlet in Finland, which if successful, could expand worldwide.
The outlet in Tampere is running the trial until the end of November and after that McDonald’s will evaluate the burger's sales and the feedback generated in order to decide on its future.
The burger is made with a soy patty and can be ordered with a side of chips, which are also vegan.
According to Christoffer Rönnblad, Marketing Director of McDonald's in Finland, the vegan burger required extensive in-house product development. He also confirmed that whatever the outcome of the trial, McDonald's will continue to expand its meat-free offerings in the future.
