Indian street food restaurant, Mowgli has opened its debut Birmingham restaurant at Grand Central shopping centre. The 364 sq m unit with space for 128 covers is located alongside Pho and Tapas Revolution.
Designed by Founder and CEO Nisha Katona, the interior includes the iconic Mowgli ropes with an ambiance inspired by the broken-down temple behind her ancestral Varanasi home. The menu offers a vibrant selection of smash and grab zingy sharing plates including traditional tiffin boxes and the brand’s signature dish, Yoghurt Chat Bombs.
The debut opening for Birmingham marks the brand’s fourth restaurant, ahead of its Leeds opening scheduled for early 2018. Mowgli was founded by barrister and food writer, Nisha Katona, who has written for titles including The Daily Telegraph, The Sunday Times and The Independent, as well as filmed for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Food Network.

Since its launch in 2015, Grand Central has established itself as a leading retail and dining offer in Birmingham ideally located adjacent to the iconic Bullring shopping centre. Grand Central was built directly above New Street Station, the busiest train station outside of London.
