Equi’s Ice Cream scoops listings with Dobbies & Asda

Equi’s Ice Cream, the Lanarkshire-based luxury ice cream company, has secured a new listing across all 15 Dobbies Garden Centres throughout Scotland for its Double Cream Vanilla Ice Cream, as well 49 Asda stores in Scotland.

Equi’s Double Cream Vanilla Ice Cream is available in 500ml tubs for customers visiting the Edinburgh Dobbies store to take home and available for diners to enjoy in all Dobbies stores restaurants. The multi-award winning ice cream is made with milk and double cream from local dairy farms and natural Bourbon Vanilla sourced from Madagascar, making it incredibly rich in flavour.

Restaurant Director at Dobbies, Costas Constantinou, said, “We are proud to be associated with Equi’s, which is one of the finest ice-cream manufacturers in Scotland. Made using Scottish milk and cream, and with such a rich heritage dating back nearly a century, it is no wonder that Equi’s was selected by our own staff.”

David Equi, Managing Director of Equi’s Ice Cream, commented, “We’re excited to be in Dobbies stores in the build up to the festive season as they’re such a big Christmas destination for shoppers.'

Regional Buying Manager at Asda, Heather Turnbull, said, “Equi’s Ice Cream has been available at Asda for 14 years now and has been a huge success in stores across the country.

'Over the years we have stocked a number of products allowing customers to enjoy luxury ice cream packed full of home-grown Scottish taste, talent and provenance.

'Supporting local Scottish suppliers is an integral part of what we strive to do at Asda and we’re delighted to continue to support Equi’s Ice Cream range across our stores.”

Equi finished, 'Our vanilla ice cream is perfect for Christmas; it’s delicious served with warm mince pies and of course, Christmas pudding. This year, our 95th year of operating has been a hugely successful one for Equi’s; we’ve secured new listings and have received multiple award wins. We’re looking forward to our continued growth in 2018 and another prosperous year.”

Equi’s was set up in 1922 by David Equi’s grandfather Pietro, and the company has remained in the family since. As well as the original ice cream parlour in Hamilton, Equi’s also has parlours in Motherwell and Aberdeen and its ice cream and sorbets are served in cafes and restaurants across Scotland.
