Black Sheep Coffee to open 20th site & new HQ in SE1

Coffee shop chain, Black Sheep Coffee is to open its 20th site and a new headquarters in Southwark Street, London SE1, through Colliers on behalf of Goldmarle Ltd.

The £75k per annum unit, which covers 1,229 sq ft, is located in a newly developed area of Southwark, opposite the Blue Finn Building, Neo Bankside and the Tate Modern Art Gallery. Other occupiers in the area include; Pret A Manger, Coco di Mama, M&S Food and Leon.

Gabriel Shohet, Co-founder, Co-CEO at Black Sheep Coffee, said, “We’re psyched to open on Southwark street and become a small part of this awesome community. We decided to move our Head Office there, right above the shop and all of us are really excited about the move.”

Bobby Blake, associate director in Colliers International’s Central London Retail Agency Team, said, “It is an exciting time in the coffee industry, with turnover in the British coffee market growing and set to exceed £16 million by 2025.

'During the last couple of years, there has been a surge in interest for alternative and healthier coffee options, which formed the foundations of Black Sheep Coffee. The brand’s latest unit is located in an ideal spot for the surrounding office occupiers and tourists which visit, so there is no doubt that this operator will contribute greatly to the area as it continues to develop.”

Black Sheep Coffee was founded in 2013 by a group of university friends who were determined to set themselves apart from the traditional coffee shops by ‘leaving the herd’ and sourcing specialist coffee beans to create unorthodox coffees.

The company currently operates 16 shops in London and recently opened another two in Manchester.
