Edinburgh Holiday Inn Express signs up charitable laundry service

Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre – operated by the UK’s leading independent hotel management company, Redefine|BDL Hotels (RBH) - has engaged the services of St Jude’s Laundry.

The charitable laundry operates a state-of-the art facility at Duddingston. It's part of Forth Sector, which provides a bridge to employment for people with mental health conditions, physical or learning disabilities. The hand-finished commercial laundry service has held a Royal Warrant for a quarter of a century and will now cater for the 161-room central Edinburgh property’s laundry needs.

Alexander Cameron, the hotel's General Manager, said, “I’m sure our guests will be as delighted as we are at the announcement of this new partnership.

“St Jude’s reputation goes before it. St Jude’s Laundry has held a Royal Warrant for over 25 years as launderer to Her Majesty the Queen, which means that your items will be laundered in the same way as those from the Royal household.

'We very much admire the charity’s commitment to supporting people into the workplace. Its record on environmentally-friendly processes is also second to none, and we look forward to a long and lasting a partnership.”

Steven Burnett, General Manager at St Jude's, said, “Everyone at St Jude’s Laundry adds to our forward momentum, creating a vibrant and professional working environment. The bench mark is excellence and our team is full of lives improved by simply being given an opportunity to shine.

“We are proud to be in partnership with Holiday Inn Express Edinburgh City Centre and RBH, and we look forward to delivering a first-class service. This partnership is helping to secure local people finding meaningful employment.”
