Fourpure Brewing Co celebrates 5th birthday with five new beers

Fourpure Brewing Co. is turning five this October and will be celebrating this landmark by launching five new celebratory beers.

Since launch in 2013, the brewer has grown from just three staff to a 75-strong workforce, with production capabilities of 14 million pints per year and enjoys listings with Asda, Tesco, Waitrose, Co-op and Ocado, as well as Frontier Pubs, Young’s Pubs and Urban Leisure Group in the on-trade.

Three of the five new beers being brewed to mark this milestone will be available via Fourpure’s e-shop and in pubs and bars. These will include Mexican Hot Chocolate (a creamy chocolate stout with chillis, 8% ABV), Beach Life (a passionfruit sour IPA, 5.9%ABV) and Malt Shake (a chocolate and vanilla milkshake stout, 5.5%ABV).

The other two beers – a Ginger & Lemongrass Saison and Peanut Butter & Jelly Stout - will be brewed on a smaller scale and exclusively available to consumers at the brand’s birthday party event at its Bermondsey tap house on Saturday 13 October.

Fourpure fans will then have the chance to vote for their favourite in a ‘battle of the beers’ with the winning tipple being brewed on a bigger scale in 2019.

Fourpure founder, Dan Lowe, commented, “We’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved in the last five years and all credit to the phenomenally talented team here at Fourpure. Last year’s £2.5m investment and brewery expansion was instrumental in getting us where we are today.

'It’s great to see the same level of innovation and new ideas breathed into the brand now as when we first started, but with an increase technical ability and capacity which allows beer lovers to enjoy the range beyond our tap house walls. It’s just as exciting five years on to be at the heart of the UK’s craft beer revolution.

'With the UK currently accounting for 5% volume share of craft beer globally, we work hard to ensuring we’re driving sector growth and continuing to modernise and incorporate new techniques and technology.”

Conceived by brothers Dan and Tom Lowe, Fourpure launched in 2013 and the company’s core range of beers pays homage to styles from the UK, Europe and the US.

Last year, the brewer invested £2.5m to develop and expand its business in order to meet growing demand and place itself at the forefront of the UK beer industry. The business is now spread across five warehouses in three separate locations on its Bermondsey estate. The expansion allowed the brewer to double the footprint of its production area and tap room, as well as increasing capacity by 400%. In July this year, Fourpure was acquired by Australian headquartered beer company Lion, and the company has big ambition moving into 2019.
