Mark Hix to create pizzas for Manifesto & deliver them!

Chef & restaurateur Mark Hix is set to become a pizza delivery boy for one night only, as he joins forces with Clapham’s coolest pizza take-away joint, Manifesto.

The British chef has joined forces with organic, ingredient-led pizzeria Manifesto on Northcote Road, Clapham, to create two Hix-inspired pizzas for their seasonal menu.

Launched by former Natoora Director, Vittorio Maschio earlier this year, the no-frills pizzeria has quickly become of London’s coolest take-away spots, serving the slow-proved, biga-style pizza at affordable prices.

To celebrate his two guest pizzas, Hix will don his leathers and personally deliver the first ten pizzas ordered from 1pm on Thursday 29 November. Open to lucky Clapham residents living within a one mile radius of Manifesto, those first off the mark will see Hix delivering his creations in person, as they enjoy his very British take on pizzas in the comfort of their own homes.

Following an evening of experimentation in the kitchen with Maschio, Hix decided on two seasonal pizzas, which will be on the menu at Manifesto for one month.

The ‘Heaven & Earth’ pizza is named after the German dish ‘himmel und erde,’ for which Hix is well known. Manifesto’s signature 48-hour proved biga dough will be topped with crumbled black pudding, finely sliced potato, crushed apple and baked onion.

Inspired by the British cheeses created by close friend and Blur bassist Alex James, Hix has created a second pizza, ‘Blue Monday’. This will be topped with James’ famous Blue Monday cheese, named after his favourite New Order song, as well as roasted red onions, vibrant purple sprouting broccoli and pickled walnuts.

Hix’s pizzas marks the start of series of guest chef pizzas to join the pared back menu at Manifesto, which currently has just five perfectly crafted options.

Maschio commented, “We’re very happy to have such a great British chef supporting us and creating these pizzas for Manifesto. Mark shares the same passion for ingredients as I do, and pizzas are the perfect vehicle to enjoy these amazing products. I think people are going to love his two pizzas.”

For Hix to deliver their pizza on Thursday 29 November, customers can email eat@manifestopizza.com at 1pm to make their order. The first ten orders received at this time will be delivered by Hix.
