Urban Pubs & Bars buys last 3 remaining Salt Yard Group sites

Urban Pubs & Bars, the London based, food-led managed pub, restaurant and bar operator, has acquired the three remaining Salt Yard Group outlets.

The independent company has snapped up Dehesa and Ember Yard in Soho, and Salt Yard in Fitzrovia, bringing its portfolio to 20 sites, after buying the Opera Tavern, Covent Garden in August from the same group.

Diners can expect Spanish and Italian tapas, small plates and charcuterie, exceptional wines and buzzing atmosphere from these three central London sites.

The Salt Yard Group, which launched in 2005, closed its fifth restaurant Veneta at St James’s Market in December 2017 after only a year, as the location was “not quite right”. This came one month after co-founder Simon Mullins’ departure, who was then replaced by the group’s former HR director, Georgina Laing.

Urban Pubs and Bar was founded in 2014 by Nick Pring and Malcolm Heap, the original founders of Realpubs, and has ambitious plans to open between 20 to 25 pubs over the next five years.
