Harry Ramsden’s celebrates 90th birthday today

Today, Britain’s longest established restaurant chain, Harry Ramsden’s is celebrating 90 years since Harry himself sold his first portion of fish and chips from a little hut in Guiseley, Leeds.

The brand has come a long way since then, and today there are over 35 outlets across the UK, still selling the fish and chips which has made Harry’s the name most closely associated with the nation’s favourite dish.

Tom Crowley, CEO of Harry Ramsden, noted, “This is a very special day for everyone involved with Harry Ramsden’s and we look forward to celebrating with our customers and teams.

'To be in a position to mark such a landmark anniversary underlines the loyalty towards the Harry Ramsden’s brand and we enter the next phase of our brand’s ongoing evolution with great confidence.”

Harry’s will mark today with 90th birthday parties in a number of its restaurants across the country, with families being offered the opportunity for kids to eat for free on the day.
