CDG signs up to new cedaSAFE Scheme

Daventry-based Catering Design Group (CDG) has become one of the first companies to sign up to the new cedaSAFE Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme.

Launched last month by ceda, the body representing companies working in design, projects and equipment for the foodservice, catering and hospitality industry, the new accreditation scheme provides a consistent, reliable and quality-controlled standard of assessment via qualified third-party assessors.

It was devised after discussions with the Health and Safety Executive who highlighted the need for a single assessment standard for the catering installation and design sector.

CDG already holds SafeContractor and Constructionline accreditation. Earlier this year, the commercial kitchen and restaurant design firm successfully retained ISO9001:2015 International Quality Management System (QMS) certification, a reflection of the systems and processes already in place.

Helen Davis, commercial director for Catering Design Group, said: “We take our health & safety responsibilities very seriously, so we welcome and support this latest initiative from ceda. This new accreditation strengthens our commitment to and investment in health and safety further, ensuring enhanced customer confidence and the peace of mind of knowing that we continue to meet exacting and externally audited standards.”

Adam Mason, director general of ceda, said: “I am delighted that CDG are among the first companies to have successfully achieved the cedaSAFE accreditation. By doing so, they are demonstrating their commitment to their health & safety practice, systems and procedures at the highest levels.”
