The Collective Canary Wharf to open public restaurant

Co-living pioneer, The Collective has today revealed a new restaurant and lounge concept called Mthr, which will launch at the newly opened world’s largest co-living space, The Collective Canary Wharf, this October.

The Collective Canary Wharf offers 705 bijoux bedrooms with shared kitchens - so similar to a student hall of residence - set across 21 stories. The original site in Old Oak has 550 bedrooms.

Canary Wharf will be the first co-living experience to introduce flexible leases, from a single night up to 12 months, creating a brand-new standard for the co-living sector.

Championing bold flavours and diverse ingredients, Mthr is situated on the 20th floor, and will be open to the public as well as residents, offering panoramic views of London. It will offer all-day dining food and drinks menus, drawing inspiration from global culinary influences.

The Collective builds and activates spaces that foster human connection and enable people to lead more fulfilling lives – and this communal spirit is woven throughout the food and beverage offerings of Mthr. In addition to offering an à la carte menu for breakfast and all-day dining, guests can also choose from dim sum food carts and the Market Table.

Featuring an ever-changing menu of seasonal salads, meats, and fish, the Market Table provides diners with a variety of offerings, allowing The Collective members and visiting guests to experience new options on a daily basis.

Highlights will include Chilled Soba Noodles with Seared Tuna, Whole Sea Bream with Harissa and ‘Sunday Roast’ Rosemary Lamb Shoulder. For those looking for something in a hurry, The Collective will also offer a Grab & Go option for offices in the vicinity as well as its members and guests.

At the helm of Mthr will be Head Chef Arnaud Delannay who brings with him over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry. Arnaud opened Darwin Brasserie at the renowned London skyscraper 20 Fenchurch Street, better known as the Walkie Talkie, and has also run restaurant operations at the Trafalgar St James Hotel, as well as being Head Chef at VIVI Centre Point.

With striking views of the London skyline, the multifunctional restaurant and lounge space enables guests to dine and enjoy cocktails at their leisure and unwind to take in the stunning city skyscape.

The relaxed de´cor of Mthr aims to create a stress-free environment, allowing diners to feel like they are at home, and have the option of sitting at the dining table or enjoying their meal on a comfortable sofa.

Inspired by the notion of 'coming home', Mthr reinforces the sense of welcoming, ease and harmony, offering global comfort food to members and visitors alike. As the kitchen is at the heart of every home, a place to relax, Mthr aims to blur the lines between a personal kitchen and a dining-out experience.

Reza Merchant, Founder and CEO at The Collective, commented, “Sharing a meal is such an important medium through which we form bonds with one another, and the kitchen is usually the heart of any home.

'So we’ve designed Mthr to play this role for our members, whilst also creating an inspiring, eclectic and accessible destination for the public to experience.”
