Legare to soft launch next week in SE1

Legare, the new neighbourhood Italian restaurant by Jay Patel (Barrafina, Koya City) and chef Matt Beardmore (Trullo), has just confirmed that it will launch on 14 October in London Bridge, SE1.

This will be a soft launch and Legare will offer 50% off food on Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 October (reservations only).

This is the first solo restaurant venture from Patel - formerly General Manager at Barrafina Adelaide St & Koya City, and chef, Beardmore - previously senior sous chef at Trullo.

Using seasonal and locally sourced produce, the broadly Italian menu will feature a short list of changing antipasti and fresh pasta dishes.

There will be fresh handmade pasta dishes such as Orecchiette with fennel sausage & swiss chard ragu; Stracci with crab, chilli, garlic, saffron & pangrattato, and Agnolotti w/ Neal’s Yard goats curd & tomato consommé.

There will also be antipasti options including Baby gem w/ gorgonzola dolce, pickled shallots & hazelnut pangrattato, and a daily crudo offering dictated by day-boat fishing and seasonal oysters.

Finally, dessert will include a signature Cannoli with seasonal fillings, Chocolate cremeux with hazelnut brittle and Pistachio cake with creme fraiche.

Legare's suppliers include The Ham & Cheese Company, Neal’s Yard Dairy and Kernow Sashimi.

For beverages, there's natural and low intervention wines from small producers who follow ethical farming practices, with a focus on Italian production and some interesting bottles from neighbouring countries.

Legare will also offer a collection of ambient produce to purchase, such as the wines and olive oils used in the restaurant, sourced from across Sicily, Croatia and the wider Meditteranean.
