New Hotel Indigo planned for Coventry

IHG's Hotel Indigo brand is set for a new build project by development and management group, Castlebridge Hotels. If approved, work could commence as soon as spring 2020.

Creating 63 jobs, the company has submitted plans to build a 100-room four-star hotel in the Friargate Business District in Coventry.

The scheme includes a 100-cover fine dining restaurant on the ground floor for the general public and guests to use, as well as a roof terrace.

The proposed hotel is to be located near to Coventry Railway Station. The council has also approved the lease of 50 car parking spaces, located within the new rail station multi-story car park, to the hotel in order to accommodate its guests.

Jenna Dienn, Castlebridge Group, said, “This is a very exciting opportunity for the group, Coventry is a great city and we believe that both hotel and restaurant will provide an excellent addition to the city’s hotel and dining offer.

”This is a big investment for us but we think there is real demand for a top quality hotel in the city and we are looking forward to seeing how we can use Coventry’s rich and unique heritage to create something very special for the city.'

Hotel Indigo already operates in over 120 locations worldwide including nearby Stratford-Upon-Avon.
